【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesasimplemeansofcharacterizingthethermomechanicalbehaviorofplasticcompositionsusingverysmallamountsofmaterial.Thedataobtainedcanbeusedforqualitycontroland/orresearchanddevelopmentpurposes.Forsomeclassesofmaterials,suchasthermosets,itcanalsobeusedtoestablishoptimumprocessingconditions.Dynamicmechanicaltestingprovidesasensitivemethodfordeterminingthermomechanicalcharacteristicsbymeasuringtheelasticandlossmoduliasafunctionoffrequency,temperature,ortime.Plotsofmoduliandtandeltaofamaterialversusthesevariablesprovidegraphicalrepresentationindicativeoffunctionalproperties,effectivenessofcure(thermosettingresinsystem),anddampingbehaviorunderspecifiedconditions.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoassess:5.3.1Modulusasafunctionoftemperature,5.3.2Modulusasafunctionoffrequency,5.3.3Theeffectsofprocessingtreatment,includingorientation,5.3.4Relativeresinbehavioralproperties,includingcureanddamping,5.3.5Theeffectsofsubstratetypesandorientation(fabrication)onelasticmodulus,and,5.3.6Theeffectsofformulationadditiveswhichmightaffectprocessabilityorperformance.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,referenceshouldbemadetothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,orcombinationthereof,coveredintherelevantASTMmaterialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthistestmethod.IftherearenorelevantASTMmaterialspecifications,thenthedefaultconditionsapply.1.1Thistestmethodoutlinestheuseofdynamicmechanicalinstrumentationfordeterminingandreportingtheviscoelasticpropertiesofthermoplasticandthermosettingresinsaswellascompositesystemsintheformofcylindricalspecimensmoldeddirectlyorcutfromsheets,plates,ormoldedshapes.Thecompressiondatageneratedmaybeusedtoidentifythethermomechanicalpropertiesofaplasticsmaterialorcompositionusingavarietyofdynamicmechanicalinstruments.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtoprovideameansfordeterminingthethermomechanicalproperties(asafunctionofanumberofviscoelasticvariables)forawidevarietyofplasticmaterialsusingnonresonant,forced-vibrationtechniquesasoutlinedinPracticeD4065.Plotsoftheelastic(storage)modulus,loss(viscous)modulus,complexmodulus,andtandeltaasafunctionoffrequency,time,ortemperatureareindicativeofsignificanttransitionsinthethermomechanicalperformanceofthepolymericmaterialsystem.1.3Thistestmethodisvalidforawiderangeoffrequencies,typicallyfrom0.01to100Hz.1.4Apparentdiscrepanciesmayariseinresultsobtainedunderdifferingexperimentalconditions.Theseapparentdifferencesfromresultsobservedinanotherstudycanusuallybereconciled,withoutchangingtheobserveddata,byreportinginfull(asdescribedinthistestmethod)theconditionsunderwhichthedatawereobtained.1.5Duetopossibleinstrumentationcompliance,thedatageneratedareintendedtoindicaterelativeandnotnecessarilyabsolutepropertyvalues.1.6Testdataobtainedbythistestmethodarerelevantandappropriateforuseinengineeringdesign.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationsprior......
